Arto Minasyan has redefined tech entrepreneurship with his innovative ventures. By co-founding Krisp and 10Web, he has transformed Armenian tech landscape and the way our country is viewed internationally. With a decade in software development, Masters in Physics and PhD in Mathematics, at only 37, Arto is consistently pushing the boundaries of technology and his own self.
In 2016, Arto Minasyan was deep in thought, pondering various startup ideas in Armenia. He had just wrapped up a series of brainstorming sessions with his friend Davit Baghdasaryan, who was working remotely in the USA. Davit often struggled with background noise during his evening calls with his team in California. This persistent issue of noise during calls sparked an idea that would soon become the cornerstone of Arto's next big venture.

Arto, was always seen as a bright student with an ambition to solve significant problems. At 29, he founded a successful company called Web-Dorado, which helped him gain financial independence and fuel his next big idea.

Web-Dorado later evolved into 10Web, an AI-powered platform that automates website creation, but before this change in 2017, motivated by the success stories of other Armenian startups receiving investments from U.S. investors, Arto believed it was his turn to make a mark with a bigger, more impactful business.
The Power of Persistence
The Power of Persistence
Initially, Arto and his team explored various projects, including a platform that would turn selfies into stickers for use across social media and messaging apps. Despite the enthusiasm, the sticker project faced stiff competition from more than ten million other companies worldwide, all trying and failing to crack the same idea. The development required extensive resources, and the team of 25 people burned through $450,000 in just one year from Arto's own savings, which left him searching for more funds to keep the operations going.

Desperate to find investors, Arto turned to Silicon Valley. He reached out to investors through LinkedIn, collecting around 75,000 emails and sending out countless proposals. His efforts were largely ignored, with responses often asking him not to spam them. Still, Arto traveled to Silicon Valley himself, seeking face-to-face meetings with potential investors. However, he was repeatedly told that his sticker idea wouldn't work.

Simultaneously, Arto and his university friend, Stepan Sargsyan, have been working on a different project—noise reduction technology for telephone conversations. After each disappointing pitch for the sticker project, Arto would present this secondary idea. Surprisingly, the noise cancellation concept piqued investors' interest. Encouraged by this response, Arto listened to the feedback by the investors and decided to pivot and focus entirely on the noise reduction technology. This is how Krisp was born.
Constant Learning and Growth
Constant Learning and Growth
Krisp, quickly gained traction serving 2,800 companies worldwide and receiving praise from Forbes and Time magazines. Impressed by their progress, Arto's friend and co-founder Davit left his job to join Arto in building Krisp, marking the start of their successful journey.

Krisp's success was fueled by early investments. By leveraging machine learning and AI, Krisp raised over $14 million in funding, enabling the company to expand its team to over 100 employees and develop advanced features.

Despite difficulties, Arto's resilience, ability to listen to feedback and to pivot towards more promising ideas highlight his entrepreneurial spirit. His story is a powerful example of how perseverance, adaptability, and a willingness to learn from failures can lead to groundbreaking innovations.
